عجة بيض
This is one of my favorite home made sweets. A fried mix of flour and egg dipped in sugar syrup. Yummmmmmmmmmmm And God created Ijjet Beid and said: it is gooooooooooood.
I was really surprised when I had the *sweet* عجة بيض for the first time. That far I had only had عجة كوسى as a savoury dish. We don't really have anything like that in Europe.
Ooooh, you make us readers miss Syrian food so much!!!
As far as I know, this kind of sweet in addition to a couple more (حزمبل and معجوقة) are a Safita specialty. I am not sure where did Sampsa try the sweet عجة بيض. But I would be interested in knowing.
It was a lebanese friend of mine who made it for me when I was living in France. I've never eaten it in Syria (or anywhere else in the Middle East for that matter). And حزمبل and معجوقة are complete strangers to me, too.

Is this a Syrian dish?? I never heard of it!! You should publish a decent recipe of it so your audience can try it at home ;)

So much food, so little time...
